Sociological Importance:
Women's right to choose regarding birth control and abortion is sociologically important because women have fought (and in some cases still fighting) to be equal to men in society. By having the government take away an important women's right of choosing to take birth control or have an abortion may be looked at as setting women back years of fighting for equality. How equal would it be if government were to take away the right for women to choose want they want to do with their bodies? Just a thought: women and activists had to fight for the right for women to use birth control or have an abortion but men have ALWAYS had the right to do what they want with their bodies...
